AB - Background: Staphylococcus aureus is predominant at sites of biomaterial-associated infection (BAI) and frequently infects hospitalized individuals. Methods: The polysaccharide intercellular adhesin (PIA) and S. epidermidis rSesC protein, major macromolecules in biofilm formation, were purified under native conditions and cloned and expressed in a prokaryotic host. Results: Purification of the macromolecules was confirmed by FTIR and Western blotting. Conclusions: The S. epidermidis SesC protein and PIA were successfully purified. Both are considered as vaccine candidates. LA eng UL http://rbmb.net/article-1-281-en.html M3 ER -
